Midwest Construction installs American Classic Insulated Vinyl Siding and a houseful of Uniframe Replacement windows and satisfies another Indianola, Iowa homeowner!
Rural Route Indianola, Iowa homeowners install new insulated vinyl siding and custom built Uniframe replacement windows.
The home was built in 1978 and the homeowners did a great job of maintaining their home but at some point the siding deteriorated and caused some structural damage that needed immediate attention.
Midwest Construction’s window crew installed a patio door, all new replacement windows, and a beautiful bay window on the front of the
home. The windows were custom built to fit into the existing headers, sills, jambs, and interior casings. Before the new Uniframereplacement windows were installed, our crews replaced any rotten exterior sills and casings, insulated with fiberglass insulation and sealed with silicone sealants around the opening and new windows.
Our siding crews had a few more challenges since the area around the chimney was completely rotten and needed to be rebuilt or removed. Many other areas had some rotten exterior siding and damaged exterior sheathing.
Midwest Construction cut out and removed the soft or rotten siding and sheathing and replace with new material, removed the chimney, insulated and sheeted with exterior sheathing. The homeowner had the exterior window sills and casings and door casing covered with custom bent PVC aluminum coil stock with brick mold style bends to give the window and door trims some contoured lines. The installers also covered the existing soffit and fascia system with
American Classic Hidden Ridge vinyl soffit with custom bent aluminum PVC coil stock with all VSI approved hems and roll formed with brake buddy to eliminate any wavy fascia. After all of the carpentry work was completed, our siding crews went to work applying our VSI approved water management techniques. They covered all outer walls of the home with Progressive Foam Pro-Fold 3/8 Fanfold insulation with NEOPOR to provide additional R-Value. The crews then installed window and door protective tape around all openings to prevent water and air infiltration.
Crews installed additional flashing along all of the roof lines and with water diverters.
All factory approved accessories were installed such as: starter strips, j-channels, finish trims, light blocks, electric mini mounts, and insulated corner posts. The homeowners chose American Classic Insulated Vinyl Siding. The profile was Double 5 Dutch lap and the siding color was Kaki with Linen soffit and fascia and matching Linen seamless gutters and downspouts.
The job site was cleaned up daily and all tools secured at the end of the work day. This job took 9 days to complete from start to finish.
