The home was built in 1957. Back in those days there were not many choices for insulation in the sidewalls. This particular home was built like many in those days

with no insulation.

Another challenge for the homeowners was to get paint to stay on the side walls of the home. Scrapping the paint down to the wood

and applying what they thought was the best paint would mean no worries about painting the home again for 5 years. Maybe new siding would be less expensive in the long run?

So these homeowners wanted to achieve more than just covering up the old wood they wanted maintenance freedom and to gain some energy efficiency.

An insulation crew was brought in to blow in insulation into the side wall cavities to bring the home back up to the recent energy code.

Midwest Construction’s Crews then went to work; Uniframe custom built replacement windows were installed throughout the house. Each window was carefully measured to fit into each opening of the house. All of the replacement windows installed were insulated with fiberglass insulation and sealed with our

custom sealants to prevent any air or water infiltration.

The house was then prepared with our water management techniques such as: All outer walls of the home and attached garage were covered/wrapped with Grip Tite

House Wrap. Every window and door opening on the house were then taped off with Green Guard 4 inch flashing tape to prevent water or air infiltration around the windows and doors.

After all of the exterior soffits and wooden fascia’s were inspected for rot the entire over hang was covered with American Classic Hidden Ridge Soffit with custom bent aluminum PVC fascia to give the home a fresh new look.
