No one likes to paint their home, especially if the siding is deteriorating!
Back in the 1960’s, 70’s and early 80’s home builders installed a siding product that was made of wood scraps, saw dust, and glue and they named it Masonite!
Well praise that corporation! Ever since they started to install those kinds of products and as long as they use those types of products, we will have homes to reside!
These homeowners in Plymouth, Iowa were tired of maintenance; the home needed insulation in the side walls of the home. Since the home had bat insulation between the studs the only way to insulate was to have it installed on the exterior of the wall.
Midwest Construction removed all of the siding from the home and hauled it away. Once the siding was off the walls, we had the opportunity to inspect the exterior sheeting for soft or rotten spots and replaced them with new material when we found them.We then installed on all of the exterior walls of the home and attached garage a product from Progressive Foam Technologies, 3/8 Pro-fold Universal Siding Insulation with Neopor*. What is Neopor*? Neopor is a BASF integrated graphite within the insulations cell structure. The graphite reflects radiant heat and significantly improves insulation capacity. This allows for greater insulation effect with the same amount of material.
Midwest Construction supplied and installed factory approved accessories such as, insulated corner post, starter strips, J-Chanel, finish trim, light blocks, electrical mini
mounts, faucet blocks, and water diverters.Once the house was prepared the crew was ready to cover all of the exterior window sills and casings, door casings including garage door casings with custom bent aluminum PVC coil stock. Our crew uses special tools (Sheet metal brake to bend and a Brake Buddy) to form the flat coil stock into window and door trims including custom bent fascia material. Once all of the window and door trims were covered the crews applied window and door tape around all openings to prevent water and/or air infiltration.
All Vinyl Siding Institute, (VSI) techniques were applied to this job and every siding job installed by Midwest Construction.
The homeowners chose Classic Cream, American Classic Insulated Vinyl siding in a Dutchlap profile with white window and door trims, soffit and fascia, and gutters and downspouts.
The jobsite was cleaned daily and all tools were secured. All of our crews are insured for your peace of mind and comfort. This job took our crew about 5 days from start to finish
