This farm home was built in the 1950’s with a good hardwood siding. After 60 years of weather and painting, the wood siding and windows sills, casings and sashes just wouldn’t hold the paint anymore.

Senior Project Designer met with these Forest City, Iowa homeowners to discuss the possibilities, options, and cost of new windows and siding for their home.
The first thing Chad needed to do was get out his legal pad and trusty tape measure to measure the exterior walls of this home for square footage of siding, and lineal footage of soffits, fascias and, gutters. Then Chad needed to inspect and count each exterior windows/door openings for soft or rotten wood and any exterior surface with soft or rotten wood to be replaced before any installation could proceed.

After the exterior siding profile, color, and other home accents were picked and the decisions on the type of windows, interior and exterior colors, and glass options were done the order was placed at the end of June.
The window crew was expedited the week of September 4 and spent a full and a half day installing the windows using the latest in water and air management techniques.
Our Siding crew showed up on Monday, September 11 and went right to work applying the latest in exterior house wraps to protect the home and let the interior vapors escape. Using all of the suggested VSI Siding Techniques for the installation of vinyl siding to insure these homeowners and the next will have an exterior cladding system to save energy with a lifetime non-fade protection and will never have to paint again.
This project finished up on Friday, September 15
As always the job was be done in a timely professional manner by our well trained and certified crews. The job site was cleaned up daily and all tools secured. Our crews are insured for your peace of mind and comfort. All of the construction debris was hauled away and their yard picked up.
