The home was built in the early 2000’s and had wood fiber siding. The siding was maintained yearly and it was a never ending job. The real problem was the original siding material used for this home.

It was made of wood fiber, glue and a hard coat surface to hold paint. It needed constant maintenance to prevent it from deteriorating. Since the product was made with wood savings/fibers it has the tendency to absorb moisture and start to rot. Where the siding is exposed to snow build up on the sides of the home towards the bottom of the home and up along the roof lines where the snow builds up then melts and builds up again.

Midwest Construction removed and hauled away all of the siding on the exterior walls of the home. Once the siding was removed from the walls the sheeting was inspected and all soft or rotten sheeting was replaced.  All of the outer walls of the home were wrapped with house wrap and all windows openings had air/water infiltration tape installed around each opening.
