These Ankeny, Iowa homeowners needed new siding. The home was built in 1992 and the original siding was a wood fiber product that needed to be constantly maintained or it would start to deteriorate.
Another issue on homes built in that time frame, there was no real air and water management products and techniques used when building homes(vapor barrier/house wrap, water and air infiltration barriers) and tended to cause water damage underneath the siding. (See Photo Below)
Midwest Construction had already done a couple of jobs on the street. These homeowners spoke with the neighbors we worked for and reached out to get an exact cost on insulated vinyl siding.
Paul Despenas, V.P. of Marketing, met with this couple and measured up the project for an exact cost and also inspected all of the outer walls for any potential problem areas.

Midwest Construction’s crews removed the old siding and hauled it away. After removing the old wood fiber siding our crew uncovered some water soaked and rotten sheeting on the chimney and replaced it with new sheeting. All of the outer walls of the home were covered with BreatheEZ™ Housewrap. All window and door openings were sealed off with Green Guard Window and Door tape to prevent and air or water infiltration.

Once all of the walls were prepped, Midwest Constructions VSI Certified Siding Installers went to work applying all of the factory approved accessories to the home before the siding was actually applied.
Midwest Construction installed the pride of their fleet, Double 6 - American Classic Insulated Siding System with a band board to separate the siding from the shake. All windows and door trims were covered with silver PVC custom bent aluminum coil stock, including adding 1 X 6 to the post and using 2 colors to accent the front of the home. All soffits and fascias were covered with American Classic soffit with custom bent fascia.
