Des Moines, Iowa Homeowner hires Midwest Construction to install Vinyl Siding.

The home was built in 1950. It was built with great wood building products. The original siding was Grade “A “Keystone Red Cedar Siding. The sheeting was solid and the 2x4 walls were solid. Unlike the homes built in the last 30 years.

The homeowner had the house painted when she moved in but the siding just wouldn’t hold paint anymore. On the south side of the home, the paint actually was bubbling on the sidewalls. The battle has been lost; time to look into new siding.

I received a call from this homeowner who said she had been referred to our company by her Parents and Grandparents. After speaking with her, I told her that I had personally worked with both of them. She said that’s why I called.

I stopped by her house at the scheduled time, inspected all of the outer walls and fascia boards for any soft or rotten spots. I measured each wall to get accurate information for exact pricing. We went over siding options, pricing, and colors.

Here are some of the before, during and after photos of the project.

Siding was removed, all sheeting inspected for soft or rotten wood and replaced if needed.

All outer walls of home were wrapped with Grip-Tite House Wrap. All window and door openings were taped with special tape to prevent water and air infiltration.

All soffit and fascia was covered and all windows and doors covered with maintenance free material.
